My Last Minute Flight from Canberra to Sydney!! | Qantas Link QF1486 Flight Review | Dash 8 Q300

What’s up guys!! It’s an unexpected trip. I just booked a flight to Sydney tonight, it’s now 3:30pm, (I don’t remember what I said here, sorry 😂) so (I’m) heading to the airport now. It’s gonna be Qantas Airways, Umm no it’s QantasLink, I always mess them up.😂 It’s gonna be the smallest aircraft I’ve ever been on! So yeah, hope it’s gonna be a great flight and let’s head to the airport now! So, I’m now at Canberra Airport, My original flight was at 5:15pm, But then they said there’s bushfire and bad weather in Sydney, So they decided to move me to an earlier flight, which the (new) boarding time is 4:05pm and departure time is 4:30pm I believe? Just passed security and wow boarding has already commenced! (Airport Announcement): Final boarding call for QantasLink flight 1486 to Sydney… Oh look! It seems the PM’s (prime minister’s) aircraft is here today! Merry Christmas… Gate 14. I think Canberra Airport is my favourite regional airport in the world, it’s really relaxed, it’s not as crowded as other airports like Sydney Airport. Let’s do this… I believe, this is gonna be my aircraft (that will take me to Sydney today) This one here… (Bombardier) Dash 8 Q300 So, QantasLink Dash 8 Q300, has 50 economy seats in a 2-2 configuration. Row 1 and row 10 are emergency exit row seats which has more legroom than the others. But the legroom on other seats are quite decent as well, definitely much more spacious than the B737 and A320s I picked the seat 12A, which is at the last row of the airplane. Bombardier Dash 8 aircrafts are well known for its excellent short take-off and landing capability. Our aircraft lifted off after using only 800m of the 3200m long runway! I think the airport is building a new taxi way down there aye?! What do you guys reckon?? Bye Canberra! Such a beautiful day today! It’s a fairly short flight, the flight time is about 40 minutes. As soon as the seatbelt sign turned off, the flight attendants started giving out refreshments. Despite being a short flight, QantasLink still offers complimentary red wine and white wine for all customers. One fun fact about the Dash 8 Q300: There are no window shades! About 20 minutes into the flight We commenced our descend, it’s such a short flight! This is Bankstown Metropolitan Airport, it’s technically Sydney’s secondary airport. The airport has a passenger terminal, but it’s mainly used by flying schools and business jets. I feel really lucky that the weather isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, and we are landing into runway 16R, so passengers sitting on the left hand side of the aircraft are able to see the stunning Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Landing gear down! 3 minutes to landing! Remember to watch the tyres when the plane touches down, it’s something I like about the Dash 8 aircraft, you get to see the landing smoke. Voilà!! Welcome to Sydney! Thank you so much for watching!!I If you like my video, please don’t forget to hit the like button, and subscribe to my channel!! I did some plane spotting while waiting for my train at Sydenham Station. So enjoy and hope to see you guys again soon! Peace out!
